The Terex Hi-Ranger TM Series of heavy-duty aerial devices for transmission applications celebrates its 20th year.
Three models are available with working heights of 87, 100, and 125 feet, respectively. This classic non-overcenter aerial features upper and lower fiberglass inserts, upper and lower boom extension, and continuous unrestricted planetary rotation.
Boom articulation of 78˚ of elevation above horizontal, 168° of upper boom articulation, and 90° of lower boom articulation helps line workers accurately position themselves close to the work.
“Utility crews appreciate the rigid, stable design and smooth operation, especially when using dual functions to get into the work zone,” said Joe Caywood, Director of Marketing and Product Management.
TM models have an end mount boom tip configuration and a horizontal side reach of up to 52 feet (on the TM100) with 800 lbs. of platform capacity.
Tailored Performance for Utility Fleets
The ability to tailor TM aerials to meet specific customer requirements is a key reason why this series has remained a favorite for two decades, according to Terex.
The units can be mounted on either track or truck carriers. Incorporating a platform access step within the truck bed eliminates the need to lower the bucket to ground level from the lower controls.
TM aerial devices hold a Category "C" rating, with the flexibility for Category "A" or "B" ratings as per ANSI A92.2. They are commonly utilized for voltages up to 500 kv, but they have also been rated for specialized applications up to 765 kv.
