Tariffs on Light Truck and Passenger Tires Will Remain
The U.S. International Trade Commission voted to have current tariffs on imported passenger vehicle tires and light truck tires from China to remain in place.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) voted to have current tariffs on imported passenger vehicle tires and light truck tires from China to remain in place.
The commission voted 4 - 1, leading to USITC’s determination that that “revoking the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of passenger vehicle and light truck tires from China would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.”
The action comes following a five-year review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.
Since the tariffs were imposed in 2015, the number of tires imported into the U.S. from China has plummeted, according to Modern Tire Dealer.
The Commission’s public report Passenger Vehicle and Light Truck Tires from China will contain the views of the Commission and information developed during the reviews, and will be made available by Feb. 26, 2021.
