The upfitting partnership between Sortimo International and Knapheide Manufacturing Co. has expanded its Protexx partitions lineup to include the Mercedes-Benz Metris and Sprinter vans. The partitions are made of durable ABS thermoformed plastic and weigh about half of a traditional steel partition. They're designed to fit the contour of the B-pillar area of the van that isolates the passenger area from the cargo area. This isolation helps reduce noise and better control climate in the passenger compartment.

Sortimo by Knapheide also introduced sliding-door versions of its Protexx partitions for Ford Transit medium- and high-roof models and the Ram ProMaster with low and high roofs. Additional future releases will include the Sprinter low and high roofs and the Nissan NV Cargo low and high roofs. A sliding-door partition offers the benefit over a traditional swing door partition of requiring less clear floor space to open and close the door.
Additionally, the partnership will add new shelving products under the Shelf Staxx brand with two widths and two heights.
Shelf Staxx models will measure 68 inches tall to optimize the full height of high roof vans. A narrow Shelf Staxx that's about 20 inches wide can fit into small unused spaces in the van. New accessories include Staxx slides, multi slides, drawers, and cabinet doors.
