As demand for full-size battery-electric pickups slows in North America, Stellantis noted that it is making changes to its Ram lineup in a recent release. The automaker announced it will discontinue development of a full-size BEV pickup and focus instead on a range-extended electric model.
As part of the shift, Ram is renaming its REEV-powered pickup the Ram 1500 REV, dropping the “Ramcharger” name. According to the company, this truck “will set a new benchmark in the half-ton segment, offering exceptional range, towing capability and payload performance.”
Full Ram Truck Lineup Still in Play
Ram continues to offer a complete suite of pickups and commercial vehicles, including:
Ram’s light- and heavy-duty trucks now include the brand’s widest variety of sport and off-road performance options, highlighted by the new Ram 1500 RHO, which delivers “more horsepower per dollar than any other performance off-road pickup.”
Looking Ahead for Work Truck Fleets
For vocational fleets, Ram is doubling down on its Chassis Cab and Ram Professional business. Updates include improved processes, added resources, and dedicated B2B-focused expertise. Ram said these moves are designed to better support fleet customers, upfitters, sales, and service.
Ram said in a release that it is “improving market competitiveness and growth while maintaining pricing power through products, services and electrified offerings.”
The brand remains aligned under Stellantis Pro One, with a global lineup spanning from the compact Ram 700 to the 5500 Chassis Cab and ProMaster vans.
