Mitsubishi Outlander Awarded IIHS Top Safety Pick+
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that its Outlander has been named a 2013 "Top Safety Pick+" award winner by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that its Outlander has been named a 2013 "Top Safety Pick+" award winner by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Outlander joins the Outlander Sportin being recognized as a "Top Safety Pick+," making MMC the only manufacturer with two "Top Safety Pick+" in the Small SUV category. The Outlander Sport has already been recognized by the IIHC in two straight years as a "Top Safety Pick" in 2012 and 2013, according to the automaker.
The IIHS’ "Top Safety Pick+" designation is its highest accolade for vehicles that offer superior crash protection. The automaker said that the Outlander's IIHS "Top Safety Pick+" was attributed to numerous advanced high-tech design features, particularly to its Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body.
