Hino Motors Recalling More Than 35,000 Trucks
WASHINGTON – Hino Motors Sales U.S.A. is recalling more than 35,000 2005-2013 model-year medium-duty trucks because an electrical system issue may pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
WASHINGTON – Hino Motors Sales U.S.A. is recalling more than 35,000 2005-2013 model-year medium-duty trucks because an electrical system issue may pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
Over time, the main B+ circuit from the battery to the starter might short to ground because of wear resulting from interference between the B+ circuit and its convoluted tubing sheath, NHTSA said. This condition could lead to a fire.
The recall covers 2005-2013 model-year Hino NA6J, NB6J, NC6J, ND8J, NE8J, NF8J, NJ8J and NV8J trucks. The trucks covered by the recall were all manufactured from Aug. 18, 2003 through Nov. 16, 2011.
The recall is expected to get under way in mid-January. Dealers will make the necessary repairs free of charge. Truck owners can reach Hino at 1-248-699-9390.
