Ford closed December with its best record for F-Series truck sales — 75,076. That’s 10.9% higher than last year’s total truck sales in December.
To round it out, 653,957 Ford F-Series trucks were sold in 2022, making it America’s best-selling truck for 46 straight years. And it’s also the best-selling vehicle for 41 straight years.
Not only did Ford have a successful 2022, but it also has a promising future with its selection of 23MY vehicles and electric vehicles (EVS).
23MY Ford Vehicles
Ford sold 69.6% more MY23 vehicles than MY22 vehicles in 2022.
The most popular is its Super Duty. Introduced in September, the F-Series Super Duty lineup has a new selection of engine choices, upfitting, power upgrades, and more.
As of December, Ford stated it has more than 245,000 23MY Super Duty orders.
Ford’s most popular small truck is the Maverick. There were 74,370 retail orders filled for the 23MY.
In recent news, Ford also teased its 2023 Transit Trail van in October, with more info coming soon.
Ford’s Electric Vehicles
Ford has two electric vehicles available for work truck fleets — F-150 Lightning and E-Transit van.
Since the F-150 Lightning launch in May, 15,617 have sold. That makes it the best-selling electric truck in America in 2022.
As for the E-Transit van, Ford sold 6,500 in 2022. That also makes it America’s best-selling electric van with a 73% share of the segment.
