The Ford F-150 was again named Automotive Fleet's 2024 Fleet Truck of the Year, marking its 10th win since the award's inception in 2003.
Fleet managers selected the Ford F-150 as their top choice for its dependability, ruggedness, and innovative features that consistently meet the demands of commercial operations. With a legacy of being the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for over 42 years, the F-150 sets the bar for fleet trucks.
The F-150's success in fleet applications can be attributed to its powertrain versatility, fuel efficiency, and Ford's robust fleet support. The 2024 model introduces a range of updates reaffirming its position as the leader in the fleet truck segment.
What's New for the Ford F-150 in 2024?
The 2024 F-150 received a mid-cycle refresh as part of its fourteenth generation, with enhancements designed to improve performance and fleet functionality:
New Engine Options: The base 3.3L V-6 has been replaced with a more powerful 2.7L EcoBoost V6.
Hybrid Accessibility: The hybrid PowerBoost model is now available at cost parity with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, balancing power and fuel efficiency.
Innovative Features: A side-swinging tailgate enhances bed access during towing, while the Pro Power Onboard generator system is now standard on hybrid models.
All trims now include a standard 12-inch touchscreen, offering advanced connectivity and easier driver navigation.
Celebrating F-150's Decades of Milestones
Since its introduction in 1948, the Ford F-Series has consistently pushed boundaries in fleet and commercial use. Highlights include:
The 1975 launch of the F-150 model bridged light- and heavy-duty capabilities.
The 2011 introduction of the 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 revolutionized fuel-efficient performance.
The 2021 debut of the F-150 Hybrid brings sustainability into the mix.
The 2022 release of the all-electric F-150 Lightning.
A Legacy of Excellence for a Fleet Pickup Truck
"We are thrilled that the Ford F-150 has been named the 2024 Fleet Truck of the Year for the 10th time," Kevin Lieberum, F-150 and F-150 Lightning brand marketing manager for Ford Pro told Automotive Fleet. "There's no greater honor than earning the trust of our customers, and we're grateful for their continued support."
With its impressive history and constant innovation, the Ford F-150 remains a go-to choice for fleet managers nationwide, delivering the power, efficiency, and features fleets need to succeed.
