Edmunds has named the F-150 Lightning the 2024 Edmunds Top Rated Electric Truck, its second win in a row. The Chevrolet Colorado was named the Top Rated Truck for 2024, the first time this pickup truck has made the list.

Presented annually, the awards recognize the best vehicles on sale today — irrespective of when they were launched — and represent the top of Edmunds' testing efforts. Each year, the Edmunds editorial team tests 300-plus vehicles, driving more than 500,000 miles to deliver the definitive Edmunds Rating, the foundation of the Edmunds Top-Rated Awards.

"Building on the appeal of the gas-powered F-150, the Lightning combines extra versatility with effortless performance," said Alistair Weaver, Edmunds editor-in-chief. "With its broad capability and rugged appeal, it feels less like an electric truck and more like a truck that just happens to be electric."

More on the Ford F-150 Lightning

The all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup, part of the Ford F-Series, officially launched in April 2022. In October 2023, Ford launched the tech-forward F-150 Lightning Flash. Available in Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum models, the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro features a 240-mile EPA-estimated range, a mega power frunk, a 12-inch touchscreen, and more.

The electric pickup has also gone global, with customers in Norway and Switzerland receiving limited truck models.

Recently, the automaker announced that it will reduce the production of the electric pickup truck after several announcements of production increases.

More on the Chevrolet Colorado

The 2023 Colorado lineup includes Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71, ZR2, and first-ever Trail Boss models. A 2.7L Turbo engine, proven in the full-size Silverado, is new for Colorado and powers all five models with three distinct output variants that exceed the output of the current model.

The engine receives several enhancements in the 2023 model year to help optimize performance and refinement. They include a more rigid cylinder block casting and a 30% stiffer crankshaft, which complement a fully forged bottom end as well as materials used in diesel engines to deliver the durability customers expect.

The lineup features three distinctive chassis stances to optimize each model's capabilities. Together, they compose a more diverse range of choices tailored to the unique ways customers use their trucks for work and recreational activities, including off-roading.
