This latest awards adds to the Ford trophy case and is addition to the Ford F-150 was named Edmunds Top Truck and the F-150 Lighting the Top Electric Truck earlier this year.

Edmunds Names F-150 Lightning Best of the Best

Ford has done it again, adding yet another trophy to its growing list of accolades. Edmunds has named the Ford F-150 Lighting Best of the Best in its Top-Rated Awards 2023.

This is after Edmunds named the Ford F-150 Top Rated Truck and Ford F-150 Lightning Top Rated Electric Truck earlier this month.

According to Edmunds, the Best of the Best is a brand-new flagship award recognizing stand-out vehicles currently on sale. Through a rigorous testing process, the award is given at Edmund editors’ discretion, considering the following factors: 

  • Impact.

  • Innovation.

  • Relevance to vehicle shoppers.

What Made the Ford F-150 Lightning Stand Out? 

The Ford F-150 Lightning comes with several advanced features ideal for fleets that tow, including a smart hitch app.

The Ford F-150 Lightning was unveiled in May 2021. Pre-production on the all-new electric truck started in September 2021, with production beginning in April 2022. The Edmunds team acknowledged that the F-150 Lightning’s advanced technology provides new solutions and values to customers that rely daily on the truck’s capabilities. 

“[F-150 Lightning] embraces the advantages of electric technology to create a better truck for truckers,” said Edmunds Editor-in-Chief Alistair Weaver. “This isn’t a lifestyle toy; it’s a working tool in the best tradition of the F-150. The heart of America is in robust health.”

The Edmunds editorial team selects Edmunds Top Rated Award winners based on informed opinions gathered during its vehicle testing and ranking process, including the Edmunds EV Range Test for electric vehicles.

In addition, the F-150 Lightning Pro has several stand-out features ideal for fleet operations, from a large "frunk" and faster Level 2 charging, among several other features. 

Not the First or Last, Award for Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford F-150 Lightning has become an incredibly popular fleet brand, with a many fleets such as Sunrun, SDG&E, Sunbelt already utilizing them in their operations. 

Several accolades have been awarded to the Ford F-150 Lightning recently, including the Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award, North American Truck of the Year, MotorTrend Truck of the Year, and others.
