EV charging software provider Epic Charging has acquired Bluedot Technologies, a Palo Alto-based EV fleet charging management and payment platform that offers access to more than 80% of the nation’s public charging ports.
The deal was completed on May 1, 2026, and includes all of Bluedot’s branding, platform technology, intellectual property, customer contracts, and key team members.
Bluedot Built a Unified EV Fleet Charging Platform
Bluedot, founded by Ferhat Babacan, CEO, and Selinay Parlak, COO, was developed as an automated payment solution for EV fleet drivers, eliminating the need for multiple apps or payment cards across charging networks.
The platform also includes real-time telematics integration, route optimization, fraud-prevention tools, and home-charging tracking with IRS-compliant reimbursement capabilities.
The company established partnerships with customers, including Rivian, Hertz, Vay, and the City of San Francisco. Bluedot also participated in Y Combinator’s 2023 accelerator program, helping the company secure more than $5 million in funding from investors including Axel Springer & Porsche, Ford Driventure, and others. In 2024, Babacan and Parlak were named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list for Manufacturing and Industry.
Epic Charging Expands End-to-End Fleet Charging Capabilities
With the acquisition, Epic Charging will combine its charge point management system with Bluedot’s payment and charging access platform to create a more comprehensive EV charging solution for fleet operators.
“We built Bluedot to solve real pain points in EV charging management,” Babacan said. “Joining Epic Charging gives our platform the scale and resources to reach the customers who need it most. This is the right next chapter for the technology and for our team. From our first conversations with the Epic Charging team, it was clear we shared the same vision for where this industry is headed.”
Acquisition Supports AI-Powered Charging Optimization
Epic said it will use the acquisition to accelerate development of Charge OptimAIzer, an AI-powered energy management system designed to optimize EV charging operations using Bluedot’s fleet data and telematics capabilities.
Epic-powered charging networks will also become available through the Bluedot app, providing fleet drivers with expanded access to charging locations nationwide.
“Every charger operator is asking the same question: How do we get more charging sessions at our sites? Bluedot answers that,” Bakunin said. “Fleet drivers using Bluedot can now discover and charge at Epic-powered sites across the country, which means operators and site hosts running on Epic benefit from sustained demand from one of the fastest-growing segments in EV charging.”
Bluedot to Continue Operating as a Separate Brand
Bluedot will continue operating as a separate brand under Epic Charging, with Bluedot employees transitioning to Epic as part of the acquisition.
According to the companies, the combined platform will enable fleet drivers to find, charge, and pay across more than 80% of charging networks in the United States through a single EV charging management ecosystem.
