For a lot of dads in the work truck industry, downtime usually means a truck is in the shop. Personal downtime? That’s a little harder to come by.
This Father’s Day, truck storage and organization company DECKED is trying to change that with its “Dad Time Off” initiative, a program that will pay for 100 dads to take a full day off work to spend however they choose.

The company is accepting nominations through June 21, allowing people to nominate themselves or another hardworking dad for a chance to receive a day’s wages reimbursement.
“In the fleet world, you’re always keeping tabs on everyone else’s downtime, but now it’s time to take some of your own,” said Bridget Noonan, brand director for DECKED. “This Father’s Day, DECKED wants to reward the dads who keep our industries moving with the ultimate upgrade: actual, uninterrupted time off.”
According to a DECKED-commissioned study conducted in 2025, many working fathers continue to struggle with balancing work demands and family time. The survey found that a significant number of dads have missed important milestones, school events, or family activities because of work responsibilities.
Noonan said the program is designed to give fathers a rare opportunity to unplug and focus on themselves or their families without worrying about losing income.
“Because the best tools in the world don't mean a thing if you don't take the time to enjoy what you're building for your family,” she added.
