Readers of Work Truck and its sister publications, Automotive Fleet and Heavy Duty Trucking, were recently asked to participate in an online survey that took a deep dive into fleet upfitting practices and challenges. A total of 126 responses (77 completed and 49 partially completed) were collected between October and November 2021.
According to the results, 98% of fleet professionals surveyed managed vans, light-, medium-, and/or heavy-duty trucks in their fleet, and 100% upfitted those trucks or vans in some way.
Class 1-2 vehicles made up 78% of the participating fleets, Class 3-6 came in at 73%, Class 7-8 landed at 56%, and don’t know/not sure comprised 8%.
When it came to total fleet size, 53% of fleets surveyed had fewer than 200 vehicles, 12% had 201-400, 17% had 401-999, 16% had 1,000+, and 3% weren’t sure.
We’ve collected their responses to our burning questions and laid out their answers in this easy to comprehend graphical format.
