“We are excited to welcome Ian Hucker back to lead GM Envolve,” said Duncan Aldred, VP, global commercial growth strategies and operations at GM. “His expertise in strategy development and transformation will help GM Envolve continue to grow and deliver value to our customers through a winning product portfolio, advanced telematics, and digital fleet management tools.”

GM Envolve: A Look at Its History and Leadership

GM Envolve, General Motors’ dedicated fleet business solutions division, was introduced in May 2023 as an evolution of the company’s commitment to providing integrated fleet solutions. The brand was designed to offer businesses a seamless approach to fleet management by leveraging GM’s vehicle lineup, telematics, EV solutions, and digital tools to support fleet operations across various industries.

At its inception, GM Envolve was led by Ed Peper, a longtime GM executive with extensive experience in fleet and commercial sales. Peper, who previously served as U.S. vice president of GM Fleet, played a key role in shaping the fleet division’s strategies, including the integration of EVs and connected vehicle technologies.

His leadership helped transition GM Fleet into the GM Envolve brand, strengthening the company's approach to serving commercial customers.

Peper retired in 2023, marking the end of a 40-year career at General Motors. He was replaced by Sandor Piszar, effective Aug. 1. 2023. Piszar, 51, had been most recently vice president, sales, service, and marketing for GM Canada.
