GM’s 2022 Truck Sales Ended Strong
General Motors reported its fourth-quarter sales and 2022 year-to-date sales. The best-selling truck was the Chevrolet Silverado. And the least sold was GMC Sierra LD.

General Motors truck sales for the fourth-quarter 2022 are in.
When it comes to year-to-date sales, truck sales were down 1.68% in 2022 compared to 2021.
But the company finished 2022 on a stronger note with truck sales up 24% in the fourth quarter.
The best-selling truck of the quarter was the Chevrolet Silverado. There were 141,912 vehicles sold, up 23% from 2021 fourth quarter.
The breakdown of Silverado sales compared to 2021’s sales in the fourth quarter:
91,413 Silverado Light Duty (1500) units, up 8.3%.
47,462 Silverado Heavy Duty (2500 HD and 3500 HD) units, up 69%.
3,037 Silverado Medium Duty (4500 HD, 5500 HD, 6500 HD) units, up 5.9%.
GMC Sierra Truck Sales
GMC Sierra sales were overall down year to date in 2022 compared to 2021. What brought the truck’s sales down is the Sierra LD. Its sales decreased 20% in 2022.
GM had more success with Sierra HD sales, which increased by 40% in 2022. According to GM, the total number of units in 2022 sold:
Sierra LD, 142,404 units.
Sierra HD, 99,118 units.
