Prestolite Electric's complete line of Leece-Neville Heavy Duty Systems starters and alternators are engineered to meet the needs of the trucks and equipment that keep farms operating.

The product line now includes new IdlePro Extreme 12V 325-amp alternators and classic Leece-Neville Heritage Series 8SC alternators. Both designs deliver consistent, reliable power to trucks and equipment working in these commonly dusty, dirty environments, Prestolite Electric officials said in a press release.

The latest IdlePro Extreme 12V 325-amp alternators – ideal for farming equipment applications – are "virtually maintenance-free", lightweight, and engineered to deliver "industry-best" output at low-engine speeds.

This latest brushless IdlePro Extreme alternator operates at a minimum of 63% output of the unit’s rated maximum output at engine idle speed. Other IdlePro Extreme alternators configurations include 12V 220-, 240-, 280-, 350-, and 420-amps of service units and 24V 250- and 275-amps of service units.

Leece-Neville Heritage Series 8SC alternators are assembled in America and offer 12V, 160- and 185-amps of service or 24V, 100-, 150-, and 175-amps of service to the farm and agriculture markets. These application-specific units provide exceptional service life at a single RPM, a common working condition for farm trucks and equipment, company officials said.

The 8SC is offered in a J-180 dual foot mount that includes a solid rectifier frame – with and without advanced avalanche diodes – welded connections; insulated two- or three-wire system for simplified installation and service; built-in load dump protected regulator with solid state circuitry and external adjustment; and optional trash screens for protection against foreign particles.

PowerPro 7.5 and PowerPro Extreme 12 starters complete the agriculture offering with high-torque, high-power designs that are engineered to deliver starting power to 12L to 40L engines. 

The PowerPro 7.5 starter for medium- and heavy-duty engines up to 14L are 24V 7.5kW starting power and weigh less than 29 pounds. Each unit includes Integral Magnetic Switch/Soft Start Relay technology, a rotatable flange (optional) and sealed noseless design.

The PowerPro Extreme 12 starter for extreme-use heavy equipment, including Case, Caterpillar, Cummins, Hitachi, John Deere, Komatsu and MTU applications. These units offer 24V 10.5kW starting power and weigh only 36 pounds, plus offer a 40 degrees Celsius below zero to 125 C ambient operating range applicable for either wet or dry clutch operations, a rotatable flange with radial bell housing seal, and a high-torque, planetary gear reduced design.
