SKF Vehicle Aftermarket is optimizing the end-user experience with the debut of its TraX wheel end monitor (WEM).

The SKF TraX WEM is a sensor unit installed on the wheels of heavy-duty vehicles to intelligently monitor wheel end vibration and temperature to detect potential issues such as impending bearing failures. It is integrated with telematics service providers to notify the driver of needed fleet maintenance via wireless communication in advance of potential wheel end conditions that could compromise performance and safety. In the event problematic conditions are detected, notification is typically provided thousands of miles before likely service interruption.
