AMP Research has simplified the electrical installation for the Powerstep to “Plug-and-Play" and offers an optional pass-through harness.
AMP Research has simplified the electrical installation for the Powerstep to “Plug-and-Play.” The Plug-and-Play wiring system makes installation a breeze, eliminating any need for accessing door panels as part of the normal installation process, according to the manufacturer.
In addition, AMP Research has an optional pass-through harness to create a duplicate OBDII port, in case the port is needed for another accessory.
The Powerstep with Plug-and-Play uses the On Board Diagnostic (OBDII) port to connect the controls of the Powerstep to the computer system of the vehicle.
The 2014 1500 Silverado and Sierra are the first applications to utilize this new technology. It is estimated that installation time will be reduced by a minimum of 90 minutes with this new technology.
