Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced the Discoverer AT3 4S all-terrain tire for light-duty trucks and SUVs that's available in 44 sizes from 15- to 22-inch rim dimensions. It's part of a new line that also includes the Discoverer AT3 LT and AT3 XLT.

The Discoverer AT3 4S features Cooper's Adaptive-Traction technology for gripping the driving surface, whether rocky or smooth, in hot or cold weather conditions.

A silica-based tread compound and Cooper's Sure-Grip five-rib, all-terrain pattern provides off-road driving capability and excellent wet and dry traction. Cooper says zigzag sipes improve vehicle stability while reducing stone retention, and uniquely shaped deep center grooves reduce hydroplaning.

The Discoverer AT3 4S, which is severe-weather rated, has a patented saw tooth technology designed to trap snow in the tread to provide superior stopping distance on snowy surfaces. The tire includes a 65,000-mile warranty.

The tires were introduced in July as a replacement for Cooper's Discoverer A/T3 line of tires, said Scott Jamieson, director of product management.

"The Discoverer AT3 4S is designed for workday commutes and weekend adventure, while the Discoverer AT3 LT is for medium-to-heavy duty work pickups and the Discoverer AT3 XLT complements customized trucks with superior visual appeal while offering off-road capability," Jamieson said. "These are three reliable tires designed to take on tough driving conditions and excel in performance."
