AmeriCam Back-Up Camera

With a successful background in optical technology, Silicon Valley-based company Bierley is launching their new AmeriCam Back-Up Camera. With the clearest image quality on the market and a patented single cable installation, Bierley's technical expertise has produced a product that cannot be beaten on either quality or aesthetics.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is lobbying to make rearview cameras mandatory in new cars due to the shocking figures revealed by Not-in-Traffic Surveillance data1 and Public Roadways statistics2. From this data the NHTSA estimates that 292 fatalities and 18,000 injuries occur annually in back-up accidents. These terrible figures highlight the need to eliminate the rear blind zone as soon as possible and AmeriCam is the most cost effective way to do so.

Outperforming popular parking sensors in every way, AmeriCam provides a wide-angle rear view color camera which lies flush against the bumper, giving an unobstructed view day or night. The 3.5" LCD screen automatically and instantly displays the image when backing-up, while the slimline design screen blends perfectly with most instrument clusters. It is simple and reliable, tough, waterproof, and has an IP68 rated camera which is the highest standard attainable. The system comes with a standard one year warranty while an extended three year warranty is available too for total peace of mind.

AmeriCam retails at around $300 in dealerships including fitting. Most back-up cameras are only available in high-end OE headunits, so this extra low price gives any vehicle owner the opportunity to join the shift towards back-up safety technology. The single cable system allows the AmeriCam to be fitted in under one hour, making it simpler and easier than getting a set of new tires. And, if you are mechanically savvy it can be a very rewarding DIY task or Saturday morning project!

AmeriCam is working with dealers coast to coast, and can overnight if necessary, meaning that where ever you live you can still get a safety backup system installed simply by asking. And if your favorite dealership or parts store don't already know, just point them to americam.co.
