Westport and Clean Energy Team Up to Offer No-Cost CNG
The offer is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and once fleets are awarded the cards, they will have until Dec. 31, 2015 to use them up.
As fleets across North America look for ways to lower fuel costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, they’re finding alternatives to gasoline and diesel.
Westport and Clean Energy are working together to give fleets natural gas vehicle (NGV) options. NGVs use a cleaner fuel that is domestically abundant and more affordable than gasoline.
Westport is offering free compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel through any Clean Energy station across the U.S. to customers who order five or more Westport WiNG Power System-operated vehicles between now and Dec. 31, 2013. Fleets considering NGVs have a chance to enjoy the technology, performance and ease of refueling NGVs through this promotion.
Westport offers a wide range of Ford NGVs from Super Duty pickup trucks to Transit Connects. Westport powered vehicles operate on CNG alone (dedicated) or on CNG and gasoline (bi-fuel).
Ford recently announced that the first CNG-capable Ford F-150 rolled off the line in Kansas City. Fleets who love driving the Ford F-150 will now be able to fill up for free with the purchase of five Westport WiNG Ford F-150 pickups.
The free fuel credits are being offered on a “first-come-first-served” basis, and up to 750,000 gasoline gallon equivalent (GGE) of CNG fuel will be given away by Westport during the promotion.
Fleets have until Dec. 31, 2015 to use their free fuel credits.
