RALEIGH, N.C. – West Brother’s Companies, a provider of transportation, logistics, and leasing of commercial fleet services in the Southeast, has just been honored with three new safety awards from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, according to the Web site http://carolinanewswire.com. These awards come on the heels of similar recognition last month.
In August, West Brother’s Companies won more safety awards in the North Carolina Trucking Association’s Safety Management Program than any other company.
West Brother’s has shown a sustained commitment to helping businesses achieve their continuous productivity improvement goals by offering Productivity in Motion TM solutions while still maintaining an aggressive safety program across their fleet. Liberty Mutual presented West Brother’s Companies the following awards for their achievements in 2006:
West Logistics, Inc.:
Gold award for Outstanding Performance in the achievement of No Lost Time Claims Jan. 1, 2006, to Dec. 31, 2006.
Logistic Leasing, LLC:
Gold award for Outstanding Performance in the achievement of No Lost Time Claims Jan. 1, 2006, to Dec. 31, 2006.
West Brother’s Transportation Services, Inc.:
Silver award for Exceptional Safety Performance in the achievement of a lost workday cases rate 78 percent lower than industry average Jan. 1, 2006, to Dec. 31, 2006.
At the awards ceremony for the North Carolina Trucking Association’s Safety Management Program, West Brother’s received a total of five awards spread across three West Brother’s, companies ranging from vehicle to industrial safety.
At West Brother’s Transportation Services potential drivers must have a minimum two-year safe driving record to pass the initial screening. Once hired, drivers frequently attend refresher courses on safety in the West Brother’s “Excellence Training Vehicle,” where they are tested in real-time traffic situations to make sure they follow all safety protocols. Drivers who excel in upholding these protocols are given awards for their efforts. West Brother’s fleet is regularly maintained and inspected to ensure compliance with all DOT requirements.
