Southern California Edison (SCE) is electrifying its fleet by deploying 280 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Trucks (WTs). These all-electric trucks offer up to 492 miles of EPA-estimated range on a full charge, providing the endurance needed for demanding tasks.
SCE's integration of these advanced electric trucks underscores its commitment to reducing emissions and leading California's clean energy transformation. Todd Carlson, Principal Manager of Fleet at SCE, emphasized the significance of this move, stating, "The deployment represents a pivotal step in SCE’s commitment to electrify our fleet and reduce greenhouse gas emissions."
The Silverado EV WT is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering up to 510 horsepower and 615 lb.-ft. of torque in Tow/Haul mode, enabling a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 pounds.
Its 5-foot-11-inch bed features 8 standard tie-downs and a durable bed liner, ensuring cargo remains secure during transit.
For job site versatility, the Silverado EV WT includes the PowerBase system with up to 10.2 kW of offboard power, accessible through up to 10 outlets, including a 240V outlet in the truck bed.
This setup allows operators to power tools and equipment directly from the vehicle, enhancing on-site productivity.

GM and EVgo Surpass 2,000 Public Fast Charging Stalls
In collaboration with EVgo, GM has surpassed 2,000 co-branded public fast charging stalls across the U.S. The latest station in Murrieta, California, features five 350kW fast chargers capable of serving up to 10 EVs simultaneously, conveniently located near shopping and dining venues.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to install 2,850 fast charging stalls nationwide, focusing on accessible locations like grocery stores, retail centers, and urban hubs to make EV charging more convenient—especially for drivers without home charging options.
