Spartan Motors’ Utilimaster brand displayed a Con Edison utility walk-in van at the Electric Utility Fleet Manager’s Conference earlier this month in Williamsburg, Virginia. The utility service van was custom-designed for ConEd, with a highly modular cargo area for maximum storage versatility, a durable but lightweight aluminum body, and a low step-in height for easy entry and egress to increase driver productivity and safety.
The 14-foot walk-in van is built on a MT45 Freightliner chassis and includes an Onan 6kW hour diesel generator with an EC-30 Energy Command System. It features a BOSS under-deck PTO compressor, LED headlights, and exterior lighting.
