Consolidated Edison will implement its FleetWave software to manage a fleet of almost 8,000 commercial and passenger vehicles.

Con Edison services 3.4 million electric customers across a 604-square-mile service territory in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. It also operates the largest district energy steam in the U.S., providing service to approximately 1,650 customers.

By adopting FleetWave for its utility fleet, Con Edison is replacing a dated, complex mainframe-based fleet management system that involved different vehicle management processes and the use of multiple applications.

The goals outlined for the implementation of FleetWave include improving fleet visibility; tracking vehicle use and availability within a single, integrated management system; as well as accurately capturing and measuring fleet operating costs, vehicle productivity, accidents, warranty, and campaign data.
