Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. is recalling approximately 5,650 2014 model-year Toyota Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon and Avalon Hybrid vehicles because they are at risk for a loss of steering control.

In these vehicles, the left front suspension lower arm may have a faulty bolt hole where the arm connects to the ball joint. This could affect bolt-clamping force, Toyota explained. During rough road conditions that disturb the lower ball joint, the lower arm might separate and lead to a loss of steering control.

Toyota said it is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition.

Toyota dealers will replace the left front lower suspension arm with a new one to resolve the issue. Vehicle owners can reach the automaker at (800) 331-4331.
