Reading Truck, a business unit of J. B. Poindexter & Co. and one of North America’s leading manufacturers and distributors of work truck bodies, showcased two new work truck models at Work Truck Week 2026.
Reading Truck’s Combo Body
Reading Truck’s new Combo Body combines the secure storage of a service body with the open utility of a platform body in one versatile solution. In addition, the company has added two new products to its RHD lineup. The all-new RHD-46 and RHD-67 combine heavy-duty construction for the toughest environments, plus smart configurability.
Two crane bodies will also be showcased, including the RM-25 and RM-45, featuring durable, versatile solutions built for reliable lifting performance and everyday jobsite demands.
“Designed and built in America, these new Reading Truck bodies deliver the advanced performance that fleet- and owner-operators seek, including elevated productivity, enhanced user experience, and flexibility,” said Todd Stoner, vice president, sales and marketing, Reading Truck. “Engineered with form and function in mind, bodies can be upfitted to suit the needs of a variety of specific vocational situations.”
Reading Truck supports customers with 22 Reading Truck centers and a partner distribution network across the U.S. and Canada.
Reading Combo Body
The Reading Combo Body features a rear platform that adds valuable workspace and hauling capability, while secure compartments and available rack solutions (ordered separately) help keep tools and materials organized.
The Reading Combo Body includes:
Easy access to rear platform: Swing-out rear rails and drop-down side rails support quick, efficient access to the rear platform
Sixteen-inch movable steel tailboard with dual channels provides added versatility for loading, securing cargo, and jobsite use
Heavy-duty double-panel compartment doors, engineered with 12-gauge A40 galvannealed steel for both outer and inner panels, provide durability
Stainless steel rotary paddle locks are clean and functional. Locks and handles include a pry-resistant design with double-bitted keys
Aluma-Fill Cup (all aluminum dish) around the fuel cap protects the body from accidental nicks and scratches during refueling
Seamless wheelhouse panel avoids exposure to dirt, moisture, and corrosive materials
Reading RHD-46 & RHD-67
The all-new Reading RHD-46 and RHD-67 Heavy Duty Service Bodies are built for work that demands more from work trucks.
Reengineered from the ground up for heavy-duty applications that call for strength, durability, and capability, the new RHD lineup combines reinforced torsion box construction with deep, organized compartments and work-ready features built to perform in demanding environments.
Whether supporting construction crews, utility teams, government fleets, or field service operations, the RHD is engineered to handle tough workloads and backed by Reading Truck craftsmanship and a national upfit network.
Features include:
The RHD-46 is available in 9- and 11-foot truck bodies and utilizes an 8-inch torsion box for Class 4 – 6 work
The RHD-67 is available in 11- and 14-foot bodies and incorporates a 10-inch torsion box to support heavier Class 6 – 7 requirements
Standard rear strobe lights connected to upfitter switches in the cab protect crew with the flip of a switch
Structural tow hitches rated from 20,000 to 30,000 pounds (depending on model)
Body features a 50-inch floor width and 22-inch deep compartments
Red LED stop/tail/turn/reverse and amber LED strobe lights, with water-resistant housings
Dual-Pro door seal system channels water away from storage compartments
