The 2025 Ram 1500 has earned the title of MotorTrend's 2025 Truck of the Year, marking the seventh time the brand has secured this prestigious accolade since becoming a standalone entity in 2009.

This year's recognition underscores the Ram 1500's excellence across six critical judging categories: advancement in design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value, and performance of the intended function.

Versatility and Performance Lead the Way

MotorTrend's evaluation revealed the Ram 1500 lineup as a standout among a competitive field of 18 contenders. The performance capabilities of the 3.0L Hurricane Straight-Six Turbo engine, delivering up to 540 horsepower, were a key factor in the victory.

The lineup's breadth, from the off-road-ready Warlock to the luxurious Tungsten trim, highlighted Ram's commitment to offering a truck for every driver's needs.

The 2025 Ram 1500's ability to deliver power and versatility makes it a valuable asset for work truck fleet managers. Whether hauling heavy loads, navigating challenging terrains, or ensuring driver comfort during long hauls, the Ram 1500 provides features that directly impact operational efficiency and vehicle longevity. Its diverse trim lineup allows fleets to tailor their purchases to meet specific job requirements and budgets.

"Full-size pickups compete in one of the toughest segments in the auto industry, and the 2025 Ram 1500 sets a benchmark for luxury, off-road capability, and a variety of trim levels," said Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram. "We're proud that MotorTrend has recognized our team's dedication to delivering the best."

Truck Innovation Meets Working Capability

Ram introduced several engineering advances with the 2025 model, including replacing the Hemi engine with the all-new Hurricane Straight-Six Turbo. This engine, available in standard output (420 hp) and high-output (540 hp) versions, enhances performance while reducing weight and improving handling.

The Ram 1500 also offers a segment-exclusive air suspension system for superior ride and handling and advanced technology features such as a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch passenger screen, and a premium 23-speaker Klipsch audio system.

Fleet managers will particularly appreciate the Ram 1500's towing and hauling capabilities, including a maximum towing capacity of 11,600 pounds and payload ratings of up to 2,360 pounds. The new trailer reverse steering aid simplifies one of the most challenging tasks for drivers, increasing safety and reducing training time. Meanwhile, the available air suspension improves ride quality, even under heavy loads, helping to protect cargo and ensure driver comfort.

MotorTrend editors praised Ram's integration of new features like Hands-Free Active Driving Assist, which could prove valuable for fleets by enhancing driver safety on well-marked highways. These advancements represent a blend of performance and technology that aligns with fleet managers' reliability, efficiency, and safety needs.

The Tungsten interior boasts carbon-fiber accents, extensive stitching, and state-of-the-art technology, providing a refined experience rivaling luxury sedans.

The premium interior offers features like massaging seats and advanced connectivity for fleets with long-distance or executive drivers, ensuring comfort during extended trips. These features are not just perks, they help reduce driver fatigue, improve satisfaction, and potentially increase retention in a competitive market.
