ICF, a global consulting and technology services provider, has launched PowerGuide, a cloud-based customer engagement, education, and analytics platform designed to assist utilities and their customers in understanding the costs and benefits of fleet electrification. The platform also provides implementation services to support the transition to electrified fleets.
PowerGuide is powered by data collected from over 200 fleets across 16 U.S. states and includes information on more than 600 electric vehicle (EV) makes and models. The platform offers utilities and their customers market awareness, education, and detailed modeling tools that simplify the fleet electrification journey.
These tools include data visualization and dashboards that support decision-making around vehicle costs, maintenance schedules, grid impacts, and community benefits.
Central Hudson Adopts PowerGuide for Fleet Electrification
Central Hudson, a New York utility, is one of the first to adopt PowerGuide. The platform helps the utility identify fleet electrification opportunities for its customers and streamline their planning processes.
“Central Hudson is committed to finding innovative avenues that will help our communities reduce their carbon footprint through environmentally beneficial electrification of transportation,” said Ryan Hawthorne, Vice President of Electric Engineering and Operations. “PowerGuide gives us the ability to coordinate with customers who will benefit the most from fleet electrification, allowing us to make real and lasting impacts on emissions and further support New York’s ambitious clean energy initiatives.”
Future Expansion and Enhanced Features for PowerGuide
Looking ahead, ICF plans to expand PowerGuide’s capabilities to support additional sectors, including residential and commercial building decarbonization. Upcoming features include dynamic rate modeling, charging optimization, and facility/grid infrastructure upgrade analysis.
These additions will enhance customer engagement, provide deeper analytics, and support more effective grid management, continuing PowerGuide's role in driving sustainable change across the energy ecosystem.
ICF has a long history of delivering energy efficiency, electrification, and demand management programs. The company is currently implementing over 250 programs for more than 60 utilities, including Duke Energy, Con Edison, and National Grid.
