National Truck Protection is rolling out its new Electronix components coverage package to all its commercial truck equipment protection plan selling partners in the US and Canada. After the introduction of Electronix for Class 8 heavy-duty trucks generated strong interest from dealers and truck owners, it is being expanded to include Class 2 – 7 vehicles.

The new Electronix Package covers critical electronics and systems like:

  • Adaptive braking

  • Anti-roll sensor

  • Collision avoidance

  • Navigation

  • Power windows/locks

  • Turn signals

  • Wiper motor

  • Additional systems

The Electronix Package can be added to any NTP or Premium 2000 equipment protection plan for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks.

“Commercial truck OEMs include a growing list of high-tech electronics on all their new models that provide more efficient truck operation and driver assistance features common with the automotive industry,” said Geoff Stigler, chief commercial officer at NTP. “As trucks age, we see an increasing failure rate of these electronics. So, our product development team created the industry’s most comprehensive electronics coverage plan available today. Like our other critical equipment coverage plans, protecting important electronic components after the OEM warranty expires is vital to the uptime and operation of the truck.”

Craig O’Hare, VP of dealer sales, said NTP has led the trucking industry in equipment protection innovation for more than four decades. One example he points to is when in 2020 the company introduced the Comfort Package to cover radiator, HVAC, alternator, starter, and more.

“Properly functioning electronics systems are critical to the trucks' overall operations. Having repair coverage when these systems fail not only keeps drivers on the road making money, but keeps them safe, too,” said O’Hare.
