Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc. has officially delivered its first NRR-EV, marking a major step forward for both the company and the medium-duty truck industry. Red Bull North America is now putting the fully electric NRR-EV to work, delivering beverage products across Southern California.
“Today marks a major milestone for the industry and for us,” said Shaun Skinner, president of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America. “Watching the NRR-EV evolve from a concept to a viable operating product is a big deal. Our teams and our clients have put so much time and effort into making this happen, and it speaks to our teamwork and dedication to more sustainable transportation solutions. It is no longer just a plan, we have zero-emission trucks serving our customers’ needs!”
Power and Payload: A Closer Look at the NRR-EV
The Class 5 Isuzu NRR-EV boasts a 100-kWh powertrain with an estimated 100-mile range under full payload conditions. This range can vary depending on driving habits, use of cab comfort features, and utilization of its adjustable regenerative braking system, which recaptures energy while coasting or slowing down.
With a lightweight, all-aluminum six-bay beverage body, the NRR-EV maintains impressive cargo capacity. Its 19,500-lb. GVWR supports a hefty payload of approximately 9,000 lbs., making it well-suited for beverage and other medium-duty delivery applications.
Driving Forward: Sustainability Meets Real-World Use
The rollout of the NRR-EV signals Isuzu's growing commitment to sustainable solutions in the commercial vehicle market. Combining advanced powertrain technologies, thoughtful route planning, and innovative body upfit solutions, this electric truck brings a new level of efficiency and reliability to zero-emission deliveries.
Red Bull's deployment in Southern California also showcases the NRR-EV’s readiness for real-world fleet applications, a key milestone as more businesses explore electric options to meet environmental goals and regulatory requirements.
