Effective Jan. 1, 2026, Cox Automotive will combine Fleet Services and FleetNet America into a single unified fleet organization. The move builds on Cox’s efforts to strengthen its role in the fleet industry by connecting roadside, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance with managed care solutions through its in-house technicians and FleetNet’s nationwide service provider network of more than 65,000.
Background and Growth
Cox Automotive acquired Fleet Services and FleetNet America within the past five years as part of its expansion into the fleet sector. Since then, Fleet Services has grown to more than 1,500 technicians across the country, while FleetNet has handled record volumes, including 2.5 million calls and 800,000 emergency roadside events annually.
Patrick Brennan, senior vice president of Fleet Services, said the alignment is part of Cox’s broader efforts to streamline fragmented markets. “Our goal is to bring the same organizing power to the fleet ecosystem that we’ve brought to other sectors,” he noted.
Leadership Updates
To support this transition, Cox Automotive recently appointed Kyle Ballinger as vice president of Fleet Sales. Ballinger will oversee go-to-market strategy, focusing on expanding client relationships and growing new business.
“Cox Automotive is positioned to provide the transparency and foundation clients need to operate and grow their fleets,” Ballinger said.

Alex Fraser, vice president of FleetNet, emphasized the benefits of the merger: “By coming together, we’ll offer a simpler, more powerful alternative to managing multiple vendors. Our goal is to help fleets do more with less.”
Mark Grillo, director of operations, supply chain and fleet at Budget Truck Rental, added that the combined services will enhance support. “The service levels we receive empower us to deliver a reliable experience to our customers wherever they are,” he said.

Cox Automotive said it is in the early stages of integration and expects to announce the new brand for the combined fleet business in the coming months.
