Powerful Engine Options for Maximum Towing Capacity

The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty lineup is powered by two engine choices tailored for fleet needs:

  • 6.7L Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel: The upgraded engine delivers 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb.-ft. of torque, making it Ram’s most powerful diesel engine yet, according to the automaker. This powertrain allows the Ram 3500 to achieve a maximum towing capacity of 36,610 pounds — up from previous models thanks to a more fuel-efficient 3.42 rear axle ratio paired with the TorqueFlite HD 8-speed automatic transmission.

  • 6.4L HEMI V-8: The standard gas-powered option produces 405 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque, offering payload capabilities of up to 7,590 pounds.

The new Cummins Turbo Diesel engine also improves acceleration times, with the Ram 2500 now reaching 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, compared to 8.0 seconds in the 2024 model.

Advanced Technology Enhances Fleet Efficiency

Inside the cab, Ram has equipped the 2025 Heavy Duty models with the latest version of its Uconnect 5 system, featuring a new 14.5-inch touchscreen display and a segment-first 10.25-inch passenger screen. This innovative passenger screen offers functions like co-pilot navigation, camera views, and entertainment options, creating a seamless and connected experience for drivers and passengers alike.

For fleet operators needing additional power on the job site, the trucks now come with an on-board power inverter, capable of delivering up to 2.4 kilowatts through two covered outlets in the truck bed.
