The current fifth-generation Ram 1500 began with the 2019 model year and remains the foundation of the 2027 lineup. 2027 Ram 1500 At-a-Glance Fleet Specs

Ram’s 2027 specifications identify Quad Cab and Crew Cab 4x2 and 4x4 models and list Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan as the vehicle assembly plant. The detailed feature guide identifies the primary cab, box, wheelbase, and drivetrain combinations available across the lineup.

A Note About Ram’s Published Payload Figures

Ram’s current 2027 consumer site advertises a maximum available payload of 2,340 pounds with the 3.6L Pentastar V-6; however, Ram’s detailed 2027 towing chart lists a 4x2 Quad Cab Tradesman with the 6-foot 4-inch box, Pentastar V-6 eTorque, and 3.55 axle ratio at 2,410 pounds of payload.

Until Ram reconciles the two published figures, Work Truck is retaining both and identifying the source of each rather than treating either as universally applicable.

What Changed for the 2027 Ram 1500

For fleets, some of the most notable 2027 updates involve onboard power, camera availability, bed functionality, and work-related equipment. Pentastar V-6 eTorque-equipped trucks gain an available 2-kW onboard power system. Ram’s feature guide lists the system as optional on Tradesman, Express, Warlock, and Big Horn/Lone Star. The system uses two 120-volt outlets to provide power for external equipment, including tools.

Ram also expanded availability of its 360-degree surround-view camera system for 2027. The feature guide lists the system as standard on several upper-level models and available or package-based on additional configurations.

Other 2027 updates include:

• Passive entry added to the Big Horn Level 2 Equipment Group.
• Rain-sensing windshield wipers added to Laramie equipment.
• A Pentastar V-6 eTorque version of the Warlock joins the lineup.
• Limited and Limited Longhorn models gain a RamBox delete option.
• New and expanded exterior color availability.
• The Ram 1500 TRX returns with SRT branding and a 777-hp supercharged 6.2L HEMI V-8.
• A new Rumble Bee performance family expands the Ram 1500 lineup with 5.7L, 6.4L, and supercharged 6.2L HEMI V-8 powertrains.

The Big Horn Level 2 Equipment Group also includes a 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen, 400-watt inverter, wireless charging, power tailgate release, and a 115-volt auxiliary rear outlet.

2027 Ram 1500 Engines and Powertrains

The 2027 Ram 1500 offers several gasoline powertrains, with engine availability varying by trim, cab, drivetrain, and equipment.

Core Ram 1500 Powertrains

The 3.6L Pentastar V-6 eTorque uses a 48-volt belt-starter generator system and produces 305 hp and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. Ram specifies regular 87-octane gasoline for the engine.

The standard-output Hurricane produces 420 hp and 469 lb.-ft. of torque, while the high-output version increases output to 540 hp and 521 lb.-ft. The standard-output engine recommends 91-octane premium fuel, while the HO engine requires 91-octane premium.

Performance-Specific Powertrains

Several additional engines are reserved for Rumble Bee and SRT performance variants.

The 6.4L HEMI produces 470 hp and 455 lb.-ft. of torque, while the supercharged 6.2L HEMI produces 777 hp and 680 lb.-ft.

Because these models have substantially different chassis, suspension, capability, and intended applications, Work Truck treats their specifications separately from the primary fleet-oriented Ram 1500 lineup.

2027 Ram 1500 Configurations

The primary 2027 Ram 1500 lineup offers three cab-and-box combinations:

• Quad Cab with a 6-foot 4-inch box and approximately 140.5-inch wheelbase
• Crew Cab with a 5-foot 7-inch box and approximately 144.5-inch wheelbase
• Crew Cab with a 6-foot 4-inch box and approximately 153.5-inch wheelbase

The Rumble Bee family uses a separate Quad Cab, 5-foot 7-inch box configuration with a 132.2-inch wheelbase.

Most mainstream configurations are available in 4x2, 4x4, or both depending on model. Rebel, Warlock, RHO, Tungsten, TRX SRT, and the Rumble Bee variants are among the models with more limited drivetrain combinations.

Cargo Box Dimensions

These dimensions can be particularly useful when spec'ing tool storage, bed inserts, tanks, racks, or other equipment that must fit within the usable pickup box.

Payload Towing and Weight

Maximum advertised towing for the 2027 Ram 1500 reaches 11,530 pounds with the standard-output 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo I6. Ram’s detailed towing chart achieves that rating with a 4x2 Quad Cab Tradesman, 6-foot 4-inch box, and 3.92 axle ratio.

That configuration has a 6,900-pound GVWR, 17,000-pound GCWR, and 1,870-pound listed payload.

Fleet-Focused Tradesman Capability Examples

Ram’s detailed 4x2 and 4x4 towing charts demonstrate how cab, drivetrain, engine, and axle selection can change both payload and trailer capacity.

Axles and Drivetrain

Available rear axle ratios across the 2027 Ram 1500 lineup include 3.21, 3.55, and 3.92, although availability depends on powertrain and model.

Select models offer an electronic-locking rear differential or anti-spin differential. High-output Hurricane applications use a high-torque-capacity rear axle, while RHO, TRX SRT, and certain Rumble Bee variants use additional performance-oriented axle hardware.

Four-wheel-drive transfer-case configurations also vary. Depending on the model, the Ram 1500 uses electronic part-time, on-demand, or full-time systems.

Fleet and Work-Related Features

Several available Ram 1500 features have direct value for commercial and vocational users. Available features such as the 26- and 33-gallon fuel tanks, Bed Utility Group, onboard power, trailer technology, skid-plate packages, and multiple axle configurations give fleets several ways to tailor the Ram 1500 to specific operating needs. Fleets adding bed-mounted equipment or other upfits should account for installed equipment weight when calculating remaining payload.

2-kW Onboard Power

Pentastar V-6-equipped 2027 Ram 1500 models can be equipped with a 120-volt, 2-kW onboard power system. Ram lists it as optional on Tradesman, Express, Warlock, and Big Horn/Lone Star.

The system gives operators another source of jobsite power for tools and other equipment without requiring a separate portable generator for some applications.

Bed Utility Group

The available Bed Utility Group includes:

• Exterior 115-volt AC outlet
• Adjustable upper tie-downs
• Bed extender when equipped with RamBox
• Deployable bed step
• LED bed lighting

Ram lists the Bed Utility Group as available across the 2027 lineup, although individual equipment may already be standard on certain upper trims.

RamBox Cargo Management

The available RamBox cargo management system provides lockable, drainable storage built into the sides of the pickup box and includes an electrical outlet and interior lighting. For fleets, RamBox can provide secure storage for smaller tools and equipment, although fleets planning bed-mounted upfits should verify compatibility with the RamBox configuration.

Protection Group

On applicable 4x4 models, the Protection Group adds:

• Tow hooks
• Front suspension skid plate
• Transfer-case skid plate
• Electric power-steering skid plate
• Fuel-tank skid plate

Spray-In Bed Liner

Ram lists a spray-in bed liner as standard on Limited, Limited Longhorn, RHO, TRX, and Rumble Bee, with availability varying elsewhere in the lineup.

Multifunction Tailgate

The available multifunction tailgate uses 60/40 split swing-away doors to provide easier access to the cargo box, including while a trailer is attached.

Suspension

The standard Ram 1500 chassis uses a five-link rear suspension with a solid axle. Select configurations offer Ram’s Active-Level four-corner air suspension, while RHO, TRX, and Rumble Bee performance variants use specialized suspension hardware.

The feature guide lists four-corner air suspension as available or standard on select Big Horn/Lone Star, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and Tungsten configurations.

Towing Technology

The available Trailer-tow Group bundles several towing-focused features, including:

• Integrated trailer brake controller
• Trailer tire-pressure monitoring
• Trailer reverse steering control
• Trailer light check
• Trailer-tow mirrors on applicable models

Ram also offers a Towing Technology Group with additional features such as:

Availability varies by model and equipment package. The integrated electronic trailer brake controller requires a Class IV trailer hitch and is also included with the Trailer-tow Group.

2027 Ram 1500 Technology Fit for Fleets

The 2027 Ram 1500 offers Uconnect systems ranging from an 8.4-inch display on work-oriented trims to 12-inch and 14.5-inch touchscreens on higher-level configurations. A 10.25-inch front passenger display is also available on select models.

Depending on configuration, available technology includes:

• Digital rearview mirror with tow mode
• Head-up display
• Wireless or dual wireless charging
• Smartphone-as-key functionality
• 12-inch digital driver display
• Trailer-specific camera and navigation systems
• 360-degree surround-view camera

Several driver-assistance features are standard across the 2027 lineup, including Active Lane Management, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage and Rear Cross Path detection, ParkSense front and rear park assist, and a ParkView rear backup camera.

Additional available systems include Drowsy Driver Detection, Evasive Steer Assist, Hands-Free Active Driving Assist, Intersection Collision Warning or Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and trailer reverse steering control.

Feature availability varies by trim and equipment group, so fleets should verify the exact configuration rather than assume specific technology requires a premium trim.

2027 Ram 1500 Pricing, Ordering & Availability

Current MSRP (excluding taxes, title, registration and destination) starts at $42,375, according to Ram Trucks.

Ram has separately announced pricing for two 2027 performance variants.

• The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee with the 5.7L HEMI V-8 starts at $59,995, plus a $2,795 destination charge. Availability is expected to begin in late 2026.
• The 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT starts at $99,995, plus a $2,795 destination charge. Orders opened in June 2026.

Ordering and availability vary across the 2027 Ram 1500 family. Orders for the 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT opened in June 2026, and Ram says the model is currently available for purchase.

The 5.7L HEMI-powered Rumble Bee is scheduled to begin availability in late 2026. Rumble Bee 392, Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack, and Rumble Bee SRT models are scheduled for the first half of 2027.

Fleet-specific ordering deadlines, allocation information, and order-bank timing for mainstream Ram 1500 trims should be confirmed through current Ram Professional ordering materials.

Previous Ram 1500 Model Years

As new Ram 1500 model years are introduced, Work Truck will retain the most important fleet-relevant information from previous years here. Older model years are condensed to highlight major changes, capability, powertrain updates, and other information that may still matter to fleets operating or purchasing those trucks.

2026 Ram 1500

The biggest change for the 2026 Ram 1500 was the return of the 5.7L HEMI V-8 with eTorque after Ram shifted the 1500 lineup to six-cylinder engines for the 2025 model year. The returning HEMI produced 395 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque and was offered on Tradesman, Big Horn, Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel with late availability, Limited, and Longhorn models.

The HEMI was paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and included a performance-tuned exhaust and 33-gallon fuel tank. Ram rated the HEMI-equipped 1500 for up to 11,320 pounds of towing and 1,650 pounds of payload. It was also offered as a no-charge powertrain upgrade on Limited and Longhorn models.

The broader 2026 powertrain lineup continued to include the 3.6L Pentastar V6 eTorque and standard- and high-output versions of the 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo I6. Across the lineup, maximum available output reached 540 hp, maximum towing reached 11,610 pounds, and maximum payload reached 2,360 pounds.

2025 Ram 1500

The 2025 model year brought a significant powertrain and technology update to the Ram 1500. Ram replaced the previous V-8-focused lineup with the new 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo I6 engine family alongside the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 eTorque. The standard-output Hurricane produced 420 hp and 469 lb.-ft. of torque, while the High Output version increased output to 540 hp and 521 lb.-ft.

Maximum capability for the 2025 Ram 1500 reached 11,580 pounds of towing and 2,300 pounds of payload. The model year also introduced a new high-torque rear axle for Hurricane HO-equipped trucks, while available axle ratios remained 3.21, 3.55, and 3.92.

Beyond the powertrain changes, Ram refreshed the truck’s exterior and interior and added the new Tungsten trim at the top of the lineup. Technology additions included an available 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, 10.25-inch passenger display, digital rearview mirror with tow mode, head-up display, dual wireless phone charging, digital-key capability, and available Hands-free Driving Assist. The 2025 Ram 1500 also added an available power open/close tailgate with obstacle detection.

The Ram 1500 RHO also joined the lineup for 2025, pairing the 540-hp Hurricane High Output engine with an off-road-focused configuration.
