The top three finalists for Van, SUV, and Truck Upfit of the Year have been announced. The winners will be named at Work Truck Week 2025!

Fleet professionals understand that the right upfit can make all the difference in productivity, safety, and efficiency. As the industry continues to evolve, upfitters are pushing the boundaries of design and functionality to provide solutions that meet the unique needs of commercial fleets. In recognition of these efforts, Work Truck is proud to present the finalists for the 2025 Upfit of the Year Awards, sponsored by Legend Fleet Solutions.

Now in its second year, this award program honors the best in van, truck, and SUV upfits, as voted on by professional fleet managers. Winners will be announced at Work Truck Week 2025 in Indianapolis.

Van Upfit of the Year Finalists

The three top finalists for Van Upfit of the Year have been announced!

Van upfits are all about maximizing cargo space, improving workflow, and ensuring technicians have everything they need on the go. This year’s finalists bring cutting-edge solutions that enhance safety, organization, and efficiency inside work vans.

Adrian Steel Company – Custom HVAC Package

Adrian Steel’s Custom HVAC Package is designed with the technician and jobsite in mind, creating an organized workspace that enhances safety and maximizes productivity. Key features include an air filter storage shelf to protect delicate components, a vacuum pump tray to prevent spills, heavy-duty hose and cord organizers, and a gauge cover to protect manifold gauges. 

Additionally, the package includes ergonomic tank storage at a 45-degree angle and a folding vise mount that provides a stable workspace without taking up valuable van space. This upfit ensures technicians have secure and accessible storage for all essential HVAC tools and consumables.

Holman’s Rigid Van Flooring transforms commercial vans into vocational workspaces by providing a lightweight yet impact-resistant flooring solution with an enhanced non-slip surface for improved safety. Designed for fleets of all sizes, this flooring system offers both drill and no-drill installation options, making it compatible with various commercial vans, including EV models where drilling is not feasible.

The honeycomb structure adds durability while maintaining flexibility for customization. Holman’s flooring solution is a foundational upfit that enhances vehicle usability and operator efficiency.

Mike Albert Fleet Solutions – Mobile Showroom & Training Center

Mike Albert Fleet Solutions upfitted a high-roof Mercedes-Benz Sprinter into a mobile showroom and training center for Velux. This upfit features recessed interior LED lighting, a 180-degree swivel display TV, an automatic awning for shade, and a custom two-tiered racking system with cushioned trays mounted on an extended sliding base. 

Designed to securely transport and showcase fragile skylight products, this upfit offers a mobile and interactive experience for customers while ensuring products remain protected and accessible.

Pickup trucks remain essential workhorses for fleets, and the right upfit can dramatically improve their utility. From electric service solutions to innovative storage systems, these finalists showcase how truck upfits are evolving to meet the demands of modern fleets.

PepsiCo collaborated with Adrian Steel to develop the Ford F-150 Lightning Electrified Service Solution as part of its goal to achieve a 75% electric fleet by 2030. This innovative upfit optimizes the use of an electric pickup truck for service technicians, providing enhanced accessibility, storage efficiency, and safety.

Features include full-length pull-out drawers, vertical tank storage, and an Extendobed system that allows the entire truck bed to slide out for easier access. The upfit reduces the need for technicians to climb in and out of the truck bed, improving safety while maintaining productivity.

DECKED’s upfit solution combines the Drawer System with CargoGlide and a cap or topper to maximize organization and accessibility. This configuration provides secure storage, ergonomic access to tools, and improved fleet safety. Designed as a viable alternative to midsize vans, this upfit supports sustainability initiatives by reducing vehicle wear and enhancing fuel efficiency. 

The lightweight yet durable materials contribute to a streamlined workflow, helping fleets optimize space without compromising security.

Driverge Vehicle Innovations has transformed the compact Ford Maverick into a highly maneuverable and efficient work truck, ideal for urban fleet operations. The upfit includes a rear seat conversion with in-floor storage, customizable fiberglass and aluminum work caps, and a poly partition that integrates with the OEM airbag system. 

Equipped with sliding cargo trays and cabinet drawers, this upfit ensures quick and organized access to tools, making it an optimal solution for technicians who need sedan-like comfort with light-duty truck capabilities.

SUV Upfit of the Year Finalists

SUVs are becoming a more popular choice for fleets that need a balance of cargo space, mobility, and passenger capacity. This year’s top SUV upfits focus on versatility, security, and functionality—making them ideal for tech services, field work, and mobile operations.

Ranger Design’s Pacifica Tech Services Upfit redefines the functionality of passenger vehicles for tech-based applications. This upfit features a drill-free e-floor that maximizes OEM anchor points, allowing for secure cargo storage while preserving vehicle resale value. The rear seat folds flat under the load floor, enabling seamless reconfiguration between a work vehicle and a passenger van.

Additional features include a crash-tested safety partition, an interior ladder holder, and window grills for added security. This upfit is designed to meet the needs of modern fleets requiring versatility and efficiency.

Sortimo of North America – Atlas CarMo Package

Sortimo’s CarMo package for the Atlas is an ultra-lightweight cargo conversion system that installs over folded rear seats without requiring permanent modifications. Featuring a cargo management floor, a safety partition, and Sortimo’s ProSafe system for secure load retention, this upfit enhances safety and organization. It is modular and customizable, offering options for ergonomic pull-out platforms, WorkMo blocks, and lightweight SR5 shelving. 

This solution optimizes work efficiency while preserving vehicle integrity.

Similar to its Atlas counterpart, Sortimo’s Chrysler Pacifica Package provides a drill-free cargo conversion that retains the vehicle’s original configuration while adding work-ready functionality. With a cargo management floor, a secure partition, and modular storage enhancements, this upfit transforms the Pacifica into a multifunctional tech service vehicle. 

The innovative design supports fleets that require flexible, organized storage without sacrificing vehicle versatility or resale value.
