In May 2025, what recalls are out there that you need to know about, and which ones might impact your fleet? Work Truck has the answers in this comprehensive overview of recent recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recalls are categorized as either pickup truck, van, and SUV recalls, or medium- and heavy-duty truck recalls, and the manufacturers are listed in alphabetical order.

Pickup Truck, Van & SUV

Chrysler

  • Recall Number: 27C

  • Vehicles: 2025 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV)

  • Potential Units Affected: 8

  • Component: Service brakes, hydraulic

  • Breakdown: The bolts securing the front brake caliper bracket may not be tightened properly, which can result in reduced steering control, a brake fluid leak, and a loss of front brake function.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the front brake caliper brackets and bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 30C

  • Vehicles: 2025 Ram 1500

  • Potential Units Affected: 10,396

  • Component: Tires, electrical system

  • Breakdown: A software error may cause an incorrect tire inflation pressure message to display on the instrument panel.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the instrument panel software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 24, 2025.

Ford

  • Recall Number: 25S32

  • Vehicles: 2019-2020 Transit Connect

  • Potential Units Affected: 152

  • Component: Powertrain

  • Breakdown: The powertrain control module (PCM) software has fail-safe temperature threshold values higher than intended for the engine. This may delay engine cooling and result in engine overheating.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 21, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S31

  • Vehicles: 2018-2020 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator

  • Potential Units Affected: 105,322

  • Component: Seat belts

  • Breakdown: The seat belt pretensioner in the driver and/or front passenger seat may inadvertently lock the seat belt, which will not allow the belt to retract or extend.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the seat belt retractor date codes and replace the seat belt retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed April 14, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S30

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 F-150, Expedition, and 2024 Lincoln Navigator

  • Potential Units Affected: 4,163

  • Component: Engine and engine cooling

  • Breakdown: The engine may have a misaligned engine cup plug, which can result in a rapid oil leak.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the engine cup plug alignment, and replace the plug if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 26, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S29

  • Vehicles: 2025 F-150 full hybrid electric (FHEV)

  • Potential Units Affected: 47

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The high voltage battery junction box may contain an incorrect fuse, which can fail and result in a sudden loss of drive power.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the incorrect 60-amp fuse with a 150-amp fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S37

  • Vehicles: 2017-2018 F-150, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator

  • Potential Units Affected: 123,611

  • Component: Service brakes, hydraulic

  • Breakdown: The brake master cylinder may allow brake fluid to leak from the front wheel circuit into the brake booster.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is leaking, the brake booster will also be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 22, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C10

  • Vehicles: 2024 Ranger and 2024 Lincoln Nautilus

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,168

  • Component: Visibility

  • Breakdown: When closing the windows with the global closing feature, the windows may not automatically reverse after detecting an object. 

  • Recall Number: 25S36

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 E-Transit Chassis Cab

  • Potential Units Affected: 457

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The tray side rails for the high voltage battery pack may buckle and crack, allowing water to enter the battery.

  • Solution: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will inspect and replace, or repair the battery assembly as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 21, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S35

  • Vehicles: 2025 Explorer

  • Potential Units Affected: 24,655

  • Component: Powertrain

  • Breakdown: The powertrain control module (PCM) may reset while driving, which can damage the park system or cause an engine stall.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the powertrain control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 26, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25S38

  • Vehicles: 2022-2023 Transit

  • Potential Units Affected: 4,625

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The rearview camera, or 360-degree view camera if equipped, may not display a rearview image when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 19, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 22V-082

  • Vehicles: 2015 F-250, F-350, F-450, Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, and MKC

  • Potential Units Affected: 160,729

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The rearview camera printed circuit board terminal header connector may be loose or damaged, which can result in a blank or distorted image.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed on May 5, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25C12

  • Vehicles: 2025 F-150

  • Potential Units Affected: 326

  • Component: Equipment

  • Breakdown: The air bag warning label may be missing from the dashboard. 

  • Solution: Ford will mail owners the warning labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed May 5, 2025. 

General Motors

  • Recall Number: N252494000

  • Vehicles: 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL

  • Potential Units Affected: 597,571

  • Component: Engine and engine cooling

  • Breakdown: The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install a new oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 9, 2025.

Oshkosh

  • Recall Number: NGDV_TSB_034

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 ICE 2WD, ICE AWD, and BEV 2WD Next Generation delivery vehicles

  • Potential Units Affected: 169

  • Component: Visibility

  • Breakdown: The wiper arm nuts may be loose, causing the wipers to fail.

  • Solution: Oshkosh will inspect and tighten the wiper arms as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 3, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 24V-928

  • Vehicles: 2025 Defense NGDV ICE 2WD, AWD, and BEV 2WD

  • Potential Units Affected: 216

  • Component: Back over prevention

  • Breakdown: The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

  • Solution: Oshkosh will inspect and replace the head units as necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

Medium- & Heavy-Duty Recalls

Altec

  • Recall Number: CSN 3215

  • Vehicles: 2014-2016 AT200A aerial devices

  • Potential Units Affected: 103

  • Component: Structure, equipment

  • Breakdown: Cracks may develop in the legs of the mounting frame, which can cause the mounting frame side plate to break.

  • Solution: Altec will provide instructions for owners to inspect the mounting frame side plates for cracks. If cracks are found, Altec will repair the side plates as necessary, or provide a repair kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in April 2025.

  • Recall Number: CSN-3223

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 Digger Derrick

  • Potential Units Affected: 900

  • Component: Equipment

  • Breakdown: An improperly seated retaining ring may cause the hydraulic cylinder to lose pressure, resulting in unintended boom movement.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the counterbalance valves, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 13, 2025.

Autocar

  • Recall Number: DC-2503

  • Vehicles: 2020-2026 DC (Legend)

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,000

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The incorrect blower motor fuse may have been installed.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 29, 2025.

  • Recall Number: DC-2504

  • Vehicles: 2023-2024 DC (Legend)

  • Potential Units Affected: 5

  • Component: Service brakes, air

  • Breakdown: The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace or add additional air tanks as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 29, 2025.

  • Recall Number: ACTT-2502

  • Vehicles: 2023-2024 ACTT (Xspotter)

  • Potential Units Affected: 224

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The alternator ground cable may be misrouted and contact the alternator positive stud, damaging the cable.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the cable as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 13, 2025.

Bollinger Motors

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2025 B4 trucks

  • Potential Units Affected: 17

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The high voltage battery pack may be improperly sealed and allow liquid to enter the battery.

  • Solution: Bollinger Motors will work with Our Next Energy to inspect and repair the battery packs as necessary, free of charge. 

International

  • Recall Number: 25505

  • Vehicles: 2025-2026 HV, HX, LT, MV, and RH

  • Potential Units Affected: 14,786

  • Component: Visibility

  • Breakdown: The linkage that connects the right-side wiper arm to the motor may separate, causing the wipers to fail.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the wiper module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 23, 2025.

Isuzu Motors

  • Recall Number: V2502

  • Vehicles: 2025 NRR EV

  • Potential Units Affected: 73

  • Component: Engine and engine cooling

  • Breakdown: Due to a mix of incompatible coolants, debris may build up in the cooling system, causing the cooling pump to fail.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the cooling pump, flush the cooling systems, and update the owner's manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 30, 2025.

Mack Trucks

  • Recall Number: SC0477

  • Vehicles: 2025 Anthem

  • Potential Units Affected: 3

  • Component: Engine and engine cooling

  • Breakdown: The idler gear bracket fasteners may have been improperly tightened, allowing the idler gear to detach from the engine.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the turbo compound units as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 24, 2025.

Mitsubishi Fuso

  • Recall Number: C10135

  • Vehicles: 2024 Rizon FEC7K and FEC9K

  • Potential Units Affected: 243

  • Component: Exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: The bulb socket may be defective, causing the front turn signals to burn out.

  • Solution: Dealers will replace the headlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 2, 2025. 

Motiv Power Systems

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2020-2023 F-53 and F-59 vehicles equipped with a Motiv Gen 5 EPIC powertrain

  • Potential Units Affected: 139

  • Component: Structure, electrical system

  • Breakdown: A support bracket may fatigue and break, allowing the main power disconnect to contact other structures and short.

  • Solution: Motiv field support technicians will replace the bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 13, 2025

Oshkosh

  • Recall Number: N/A

  • Vehicles: 2024-2025 S-Series

  • Potential Units Affected: 469

  • Component: Powertrain

  • Breakdown: The front axle housing wall thickness may not be sufficient and can cause the axle to fail.

  • Solution: Oshkosh will inspect and replace the front axles as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 3, 2025.

Shyft Group

  • Recall Number: 25-08

  • Vehicles: Blue Arc BA4L-800 vehicles equipped with Aries LFP battery packs

  • Potential Units Affected: 23

  • Component: Electrical system

  • Breakdown: The battery pack may be improperly sealed and allow liquid to enter the battery.

  • Solution: Shyft will work with Our Next Energy to inspect and repair, or replace the battery packs as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2025.

  • Recall Number: 25-09

  • Vehicles: 2022-2025 Utilimaster Aeromaster Upfit

  • Potential Units Affected: 163

  • Component: Seats

  • Breakdown: The suspension seat mounting fasteners may have been improperly tightened.

  • Solution: Dealers will inspect and tightened or replace the fasteners as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 7, 2025.

  • Recall Number: RVXX2503

  • Vehicles: 2023-2026 New VN

  • Potential Units Affected: 5,257

  • Component: Interior lighting, exterior lighting

  • Breakdown: The hazard switch back lighting may become inoperative.

  • Solution: Dealers will update the vehicle master control unit (VMCU) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025.

  • Recall Number: RVXX2504

  • Vehicles: 2022-2025 Volvo VN and 2025 New VN

  • Potential Units Affected: 102

  • Component: Engine and engine cooling

  • Breakdown: The idler gear bracket fasteners may have been improperly tightened, allowing the idler gear to detach from the engine.
