Bridgestone Fleet Care's tire monitoring services have achieved a new milestone in the U.S., marking the company's most successful year of integration since its launch. More than 200 million annual tire pressure readings were recorded in 2023, the highest number across truck and bus radial (TBR) and off-the-road (OTR) businesses, according to a company release.
This achievement is significant for fleet managers as it means that Bridgestone Fleet Care's technology has become essential for monitoring tire health and minimizing unplanned maintenance, mainly since tire issues can cause significant downtime and safety risks.
Bridgestone Fleet Care's technology uses durable hardware and a software application to provide fleet operators with real-time data on tire inflation pressure and temperature, enabling them to monitor each tire's health continually throughout its lifecycle. The technology also proactively addresses specific tire issues, mitigating downtime and improving driver safety.
Real-World Fleet Tire Efficiencies
The integration of Bridgestone Fleet Care's tire monitoring service has been successful across various fleets and customers, and its real-time, data-driven insights have resulted in significant business efficiencies and savings.
For instance, the City of Yakima, Washington, reported a 98% reduction in road service for its waste fleet and a time savings of one to two hours per day by monitoring air pressure through the mobile app.
RNK Construction also reported a time savings of two hours per day on labor and a 40% savings on overall tire costs after installing Bridgestone Fleet Care's tire monitoring service on 13 trucks.
This achievement aligns with Bridgestone's E8 Commitment, which aims to implement eight core values: energy, ecology, efficiency, extension, economy, emotion, ease, and empowerment to create a sustainable society. By integrating Bridgestone Fleet Care's tire monitoring services, fleet managers can ensure that they minimize the risks and costs associated with tire issues and contribute to creating a sustainable future.
