Daimler Truck North America, NextEra Energy Resources, and BlackRock’s Climate Infrastructure business appointed Patrick Macdonald-King as chief executive officer of Greenlane, effective immediately.

The joint venture established by DTNA, NextEra Energy Resources, and BlackRock aims to build a high-performance, nationwide, zero-emission charging and hydrogen fueling network for medium- and heavy-duty battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the United States.

Industry Veteran to Spearhead Charging Network Expansion

With a professional journey extending over three decades, Macdonald-King brings expertise from diverse industries to his recent role.

Before joining Greenlane, he served as the president and COO at EV Connect, a major player in the U.S. EV charging network sector with international operations across Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Preceding his tenure at EV Connect, Macdonald-King founded and led DAX, a software-as-a-service asset management and cloud workflow application. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Western University, Canada.

Greenlane's Ambitious Expansion

Greenlane addresses a critical infrastructure need by delivering comprehensive charging network solutions for commercial vehicles, aiming to expedite the adoption of carbon-neutral transportation.

The absence of a nationwide public charging infrastructure, especially for commercial electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles used in long-haul freight operations, remains a significant hurdle to the widespread implementation of sustainable fleets.

The Greenlane network plans to establish charging sites and hydrogen fueling stations along crucial freight routes on the east and west coasts and in Texas, positioned to meet the expected surge in customer demand.

Greenlane is committed to delivering a distinctive customer experience through charging and energy management software solutions while operating on renewable energy sources.
