STL68 Combo LED Lamp
The nine-inch oval combination LED stop, tail, turn and backup lamp easily mounts to the surface of a vehicle and at only half an inch thick, has the low profile of a through-hole-mounted lamp.

Optronics International launched its new STL68 Combo Lamp. The nine-inch oval combination LED stop, tail, turn and backup lamp easily mounts to the surface of a vehicle and at only half an inch thick, has the low profile of a through-hole-mounted lamp.
Traditionally, vehicles have been fitted with separate six-inch stop, tail, turn lamps and six-inch backup lamps. Every individual lamp required a mounting hole in the vehicle body panels, frame posts, docking plates or gussets. Each resulting lamp cavity can reduce structural integrity and provide a path for the intrusion of moisture and other contaminants.
Today, stop, tail, turn functions are often performed by LED lamps, while backup lighting has remained largely the realm of incandescent lamps, due to cost and other factors. Optronics’ new STL68 nine-inch oval Combo Lamp is designed to give users the benefit of getting the functionality of two lamps for the price of just one. Additionally, because the lamps are all LED, they are far more dependable and thus safer than incandescent lamps.
Mounting the new STL68 nine-inch oval Combo Lamp requires only a small half-inch egress hole for wiring and four small mounting holes for rivet or screw fasteners. The low-profile lamp fits snugly to the surface of the vehicle for a clean, finished look. Because the mounting process is less invasive, a vehicle’s structural envelope can now remain largely intact.
The new STL68 nine-inch oval Combo Lamp meets all FMVSS 108 photometric requirements for visibility and safety. Lenses and housings are made of tough polycarbonate material that is sonically welded. The lamps employ a solid-state, surface-mount device (SMD) design that protects their electronics against moisture, shock and vibration, and each comes with one-diode lifetime warranty protection that will replace the lamp if even one diode fails.
The new STL68 Combo Lamp is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2014 and will be available through Optronics’ extensive distribution network of more than 12,000 top-quality distribution locations nationwide. The company also reaches markets through Internet-based retailers serving a broader vehicle and transportation audience.
