Prestolite Electric, a global manufacturer and supplier of starters and alternators for the OE and aftermarket, has extended the Prestolite Power Promise warranty to its PowerPro Extreme 5 unit, offering extended coverage of up to two years and unlimited mileage to the popular truck starter motor. 

Through the Prestolite Power Promise, every qualifying PowerPro Extreme 5 starter motor will now include a more robust warranty offering of coverage concerns versus a standard warranty. Launched in 2019, the Prestolite Power Promise warranty also includes Leece-Neville IdlePro and IdlePro Extreme alternators.

The PowerPro Extreme 5 starter includes several design features to deliver performance in a common start-stop environment and a space-saving design, according to Prestolite. Inside each PowerPro Extreme 5 starter is a completely sealed nose-less design that protects against dust, oil, and other contaminants plus an electrical Soft-Start Relay that allows the pinion to properly engage the ring gear prior to crank. 

The Prestolite Power Promise warranty covers manufacturing defects; component failure; electrical or mechanical overrun/overload; re- and mis-engagement; pinion milling and teeth damage; failure due to excess corrosion, rust, oil, dirt/debris, water and heat; and many additional common warranty concerns.

The Prestolite Power Promise is available with the purchase of qualifying Leece-Neville PowerPro Extreme 5 starters, IdlePro alternators, and IdlePro Extreme alternators. For restrictions, please contact your Prestolite Electric/Leece-Neville sales representative.
