Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies is broadening its Endurant transmission series by introducing the Endurant HD V transmission for vocational truck applications with maximum gross combination weight ratings of 70,000 pounds.
The new transmission can be paired with 9-liter, 11-liter, and the upcoming Cummins X10 engines. Maximum engine torque is 1,700 lbs.-ft.
“The new Endurant HD V is the ideal solution for our customers looking for a reliable and capable vocational truck transmission,” said Nathan Schuler, executive director of sales, Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies. “Features such as extreme duty clutches, off-highway performance goals, rock free mode, and secondary configuration set it apart from the competition.”
The new Endurant HD V is loaded with features used around the job site, such as an extreme duty clutch for improved low-speed maneuvering, a rock free feature to help get unstuck in mud or sand, an off-highway mode that automatically tunes the transmission for optimum performance in changing soil conditions, and dual power takeoff (PTO) openings to power hydraulic systems.
Eaton Cummins said drivers will appreciate the confident launch performance on grades thanks to its hill start aid feature, smooth shifting, and gear selection logic. The new secondary configuration mode allows drivers to toggle between two performance goals, features that optimize the transmission shift points and clutch calibration, allowing for a tailored driving experience that accounts for the load or terrain.
