The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is a trade group comprised of over 800 companies across the United States which manufacture products, equipment, and services used in numerous vital industries, including construction, utilities, forestry, agriculture, and mining. AEM focuses within the utility industry specifically on safety, regulatory and technical aspects with a key focus on communicating standards, regulatory development, and compliance worldwide.

As part of that industry focus, Utility Fleet Sales is proud to align itself with AEM in supporting energy grid modernization. America’s outdated energy grid wastes billions of dollars a year in lost power and is incapable of delivering the renewable energy of the future to consumers. Many renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, are located in rural areas while the demand is hundreds, if not thousands, of miles away in metropolitan areas.

Recent studies have estimated that in order to transport energy from renewable sources, we will have to construct 15,000 miles of new transmission power lines requiring thousands of specialized new bucket trucks, digger derricks, and cranes in addition to hundreds of pieces of new line stringing equipment such as four drum pullers, V-Groove Pullers, and transmission line tensioners to be built in the USA by AEM members. In order to achieve this goal, AEM supports streamlining the approval process, so these vital transmission projects can begin.

AEM works to facilitate business development for its member companies by providing training and education, sharing information about emerging technology, and promoting safety. To do so, AEM makes available to member companies a wide range of resources and tools to grow their businesses, stay on top of technological developments, and remain competitive in the marketplace.

Expositions and trade shows produced by AEM function as leaders in their respective industries and include ICUEE – The Demo Expo, CONEXPO-CON/AGG, and World of Asphalt as well as many others.
