Terex Utilities showcased its latest offerings at the International Construction and Utility Equipment Expo (ICUEE) in Louisville, Ky., including its Optima Series of aerial devices and redesigned A330 and A650 auger drills.
The company’s Optima Series of enhanced aerial devices is part of its Hi-Ranger product line, offering greater payload capacity, better boom speeds, enhanced side reach and ground access, and improved maintenance access and reliability than previous models in the product line. The Optima Series also features a redesigned hydraulic circuit that improves boom speeds and an expanded working range that optimizes capacity.
By using higher strength steel to reduce overall vehicle weight, Optima TCX and HRX now offer up to 1,000 pounds more vehicle payload capacity, depending on specific configuration and stability requirements. Four Optima models were on display.
Terex also announced significant redesigns of its A330 and A650 auger drills. The models offer enhanced control systems and a hydrostatic drive transmission for easier operation and productivity. A key feature is the new operation system, which allows the truck, unit controller, and unit engine to talk to each other, which supports the application of radio remote controls. In addition, the auger drills now offer seveal automated features, including auto brake release, inter-Kelly retract stop, inner-Kelly slack-stop, home position, return to center, and dig depth.
In total, the company displayed at least 24 pieces of equipment from its aerial device, digger derrick, auger drill, and crane product lines. Terex also held several demonstrations, showing off its HyPower IM idle mitigation management system and Load Alert aerial device monitoring system.
