Redwood Materials has announced a new partnership with Isuzu Commercial Truck of America to support battery recycling efforts for commercial electric vehicles, including medium-duty truck models. This marks Redwood’s first OEM collaboration in the medium- and heavy-duty segment and reinforces the company’s commitment to electrification across all corners of the transportation industry.
Through this relationship, Redwood will help manage the responsible recycling of cells, modules, and battery packs from various Isuzu operations across the U.S. and Canada. That includes:
Dealerships
Service centers
R&D facilities
Vehicle assembly plants
Isuzu, a long-time leader in the commercial truck space with over 300 dealerships in North America, recently introduced the NRR-EV, a medium-duty electric truck available in multiple battery configurations, ranging from 60 kWh to 180 kWh. The NRR-EV gives fleets a versatile and scalable electric option as part of their sustainability strategy.

The partnership also highlights South Carolina’s growing role in the EV space. Redwood is building one of the country’s largest battery materials campuses in Charleston, while Isuzu recently announced plans for a new vehicle production site in Greenville County. Both companies are making long-term commitments to help develop a sustainable, domestically integrated EV supply chain.
Redwood and Isuzu aim to support the transition to electric for commercial transportation by creating a closed-loop battery ecosystem tailored to the needs of fleet operators.
