To date, the Peterbilt Technician Institute (PTI) has graduated more than 200 service technicians, grown to three campuses, and expanded its scope to include training for fleet customers’ service technicians.
The most recent graduating class – trained at PTI’s Dallas location – raised the total graduates to 208 service technicians who have successfully completed the program. It is the 21st class of graduates since the Peterbilt Technician Institute’s first graduation July 25, 2014.
“The Peterbilt Technician Institute has been a resounding success for Peterbilt and its dealer network, as well as a career launch for highly skilled and trained service technicians,” said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “In turn, our customers receive an excellent service experience, which leads to the highest levels of customer satisfaction from our dealer network.”
In addition to training Peterbilt service technicians, PTI has also trained service technicians from Peterbilt fleet customers and plans to continue this training in future classes.

During the two years since the start of PTI, the program has grown from its original location in Dallas to new campuses in Lisle, Ill. and Exton, Penn. The company said it will continue to add strategically located campuses in the future.
PTI is a 12-week program that features exclusive classroom and hands-on instruction of total vehicle and engine diagnostics, maintenance and repairs. It also covers essential workplace topics such as customer service, dealership shop operations and laws and regulations. Students graduate with bumper-to-bumper knowledge of commercial vehicles, including expertise on the complete lineup of Peterbilt trucks and PACCAR engine certification.
