Parkhurst is celebrating their 75th anniversary in 2021. Since 1946, Parkhurst has been manufacturing truck equipment. Today, the company sells truck bodies across the United States through a network of truck equipment distributors and dealers serving a variety of industries and applications.

Parkhurst’s history began when William R. Parkhurst returned home after serving in the U.S. Navy. He built a two-wheeled utility trailer in a borrowed two-car garage and founded the company. Shortly after that, the company relocated to a new 4,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and began producing the Parkhurst Farm Truck Body along with trailers for the rental industry.

Parkhurst’s leadership lead the company to diversify their business after the recession in 1974. To survive, the company pivoted manufacturing to include military combat trailers for the U.S. Army and baggage carts for TWA airlines. In the years to follow, Parkhurst continued to provide truck and trailer equipment nationwide.

In 2017, the Parkhurst family sold the company to the next generation of Parkhurst Manufacturing. Long-term employees Sam Trelow and Toby Pierce purchased the company, along with Sam’s son, James. The same core values established years ago continue to influence the direction of the company today.

With a legacy of American manufacturing pride, new leadership, and innovative new products and features, the next generation of Parkhurst Manufacturing is leading the company into the future. As the company celebrates 75 years of success, Parkhurst Manufacturing is looking to the future and the promise it holds.
