The Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission approved a motion to explore issues related to the operation of third-party electric vehicle charging stations.
According to a release, the motion was passed due to the increased use of electric vehicles (EVs), and inevitable increase in EV charging stations, which are managed in a variety of ways. The commission hopes to clarify whether any restrictions should be placed on the way utilities and third-party companies offer these charging stations, and whether electric distribution companies should adopt specific tariff provisions.
