Mack Trucks Adds Two New Full-Service EV Infrastructure Partners
Mack Trucks Turnkey Solutions Program just got two more full-service infrastructure partners for its customers.

Mack Trucks expanded its comprehensive Turnkey Solutions program for Mack battery-electric vehicle (BEV) customers by adding two new full-service partners, InCharge Energy and Blink Charging.
These partnerships are two of four that Mack Trucks currently has with charging infrastructure development companies.
The Turnkey Solutions program is an end-to-end fleet management service for all aspects of developing infrastructure, including the charging hardware, software, site design, obtaining permits, installation, utility coordination and charging equipment maintenance.
Mack has two electric offerings — the Mack LR Electric and the Mack MD Electric.
Recognizing that customers interested in transitioning to EV can find it overwhelming to plan for and implement charging infrastructure, Mack developed the Turnkey Solutions program.
Customers can choose which partner to bundle charging hardware and services by purchasing their vehicle from InCharge Energy, Blink Charging, Gilbarco Veeder-Root or Heliox based on their unique needs.
Mack Expands Electric Portfolio with MD Electric
Mack Trucks introduced its second electric vehicle to the industry, the MD Electric, following the production launch of the Mack LR Electric in December 2021.
Unveiled in March 2023, the MD Electric complements its diesel-powered MD model sibling, which has seen growing customer demand since its debut in 2020.
Adding a zero-tailpipe emissions Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) to the Mack medium-duty lineup aligns with the company's long-term sustainability objectives.
The MD Electric is now available for order, mirroring its diesel counterpart with offerings in Class 6 and Class 7 ratings.
The Class 6 model boasts a GVWR of 25,995 pounds, while the Class 7 model has a GVWR of 33,000 pounds. Both models enjoy an exemption from the 12% Federal Excise Tax.
Designed to meet the diverse needs of trucking applications, the MD Electric accommodates dry van/refrigerated, stake/flatbed, and dump vocations. Notably, the MDE6 model does not necessitate a Commercial Driver’s License for non-hazardous payloads.
Mack Trucks Powers Ahead with Second Electric Offering
Meanwhile, the next-generation Mack LR Electric has a 42% increase in energy and a standard 376kWh total battery capacity, resulting in the extended range between charges.
The vehicle is propelled by twin electric motors, providing 448 continuous horsepower and a peak torque output of 4,051 lb.-ft. from zero RPM.
The LR Electric features four NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide) lithium-ion batteries, charged via a 150 kW, SAE J1772-compliant charging system.
These batteries not only propel the vehicle but also supply power for all onboard accessories through 12V, 24V, and 600V circuits.
The two-stage regenerative braking system enhances energy recapture, particularly during the numerous stops the vehicle makes each day with varying loads.
To ensure the success of the MD Electric and Mack LR Electric, Mack Trucks has established a network of Mack Certified EV Dealers.
These dealers undergo a rigorous certification process, meeting strict safety, infrastructure, charging, and tooling requirements. Mack executives collaborate closely with dealer leadership to ensure all criteria are fulfilled, facilitating a smooth transition to electric vehicle offerings.
