According to Andy LaVallee, the company's president, "We base our business philosophy on what we call 'LaVallee's Dozen' - twelve values we live by. They include customer service, dependability, quality and commitment, among others. They're an integral part of our business, and we look for vendors who share them. That's one of the main reasons we chose Mitsubishi Fuso and Boston Freightliner to supply this new truck.
"Our business model is simple. We search out and purchase only the best bakery products in every category. Currently, that means sourcing items from 23 different vendors," LaVallee says. "Then we consolidate the products in Waltham, and deliver exactly the right mix to each of our customers. It's crucial to us that our deliveries are accurate and consistent, and that our products arrive in perfect condition. In other words...impeccable quality, on time, every time. That's why we need the most dependable, reliable delivery vehicles."
The Fuso FE145, for its part, offers renowned reliability, exceptional maneuverability, a spacious, comfortable cab designed to promote driver comfort and productivity, and a reliable, efficient turbocharged diesel engine. And it's backed by the best limited-warranty package in the industry, including an exclusive 5-year, 175,000 mile powertrain warranty and a 3- year unlimited mileage, bumper-to-bumper warranty. Says Mike Rumsey, MFTA vice president sales operations, "We're proud to have reached this milestone in our company's history. Delivering our 100,000th truck is extremely satisfying, and we're looking forward to selling our next 100,000. Boston Freightliner has been a strong dealership for us over the years, and we're pleased to see the truck go to a customer with the reputation for quality and customer service that LaVallee's has, since those are also hallmarks of our brand."
