Iveco To Supply 1,600 Vehicles to Iraq
Iveco has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq for the supply of over 1,660 vehicles in the span of three years.
Iveco has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq for the supply of over 1,660 vehicles in the span of three years.
The accord is valued at €125 million and specifies the delivery of vehicles from Iveco’s light and medium ranges (Daily vans and crew cabs, and Eurocargo) from 3.5 to 18 tons. Most of these vehicles will be specially equipped with cranes and lifting platforms for the maintenance of the nation’s electric distribution network.
This appointment is the latest development in Iveco’s ambitious expansion plan for the Africa and Middle East markets, according to the company. The objective is to obtain product volumes and market share increasing Iveco’s position among the leading supplier of industrial vehicles in this area by 2014.
Iveco’s offering in Africa and the Middle East covers all product segments from light to medium and heavy. These vehicles are redesigned and adapted to meet the required local context in order to deliver the best possible performance, even in extreme weather and road conditions.
